Early Years
In our Early Years department, we support children who are aged 3 - 5 years old. We have a Nursery and a Reception classroom and together we share our outdoor garden.
Children may join our setting the term after they turn 3 years old (if places are available). Our main intake is in September, but if we have places we will transition children in January and/or April.
To apply for our Nursery, please come to the main office and collect an application form to be put onto our waiting list.
Please note that all of our staff are First Aid and Food & Hygiene safety trained.
We are also an accredited ELKLAN Communication Friendly Setting.
Nursery
In Nursery, we offer 15 and 30 hours provision. We have capacity for a total of 24 children to attend our sessions (Morning / Afternoon).
For those who are entitled to 15 hours, we offer either morning or afternoon sessions.
* AM = 8.45 - 11.45am
* PM = 12.15 - 3.15pm
For those who are entitled to 30 hours, we offer full days:
* 9am - 3pm.
If you would like your child to attend from 8.45am - 3.15pm, we charge an additional £3 per day for this. Invoices will be sent out at the end of each month and payment is to be made via Parent Pay.
Please note: we do not offer any before or after school provision for children in Nursery.
Reception
On April 16th, you will find out which school your child has been allocated for their Reception class. They will then start the following September.
We take 30 children in our Reception class.

Our Early Years Curriculum
Our Early Years Curriculum has been created to ensure that children have the necessary skills and knowledge they need to be school ready. We promote vocabulary with high importance throughout our curriculum and staff have been trained to support children's development of vocabulary through high-quality daily interactions.

Working with families
We run a baby & toddler group on a fortnightly basis on a Monday morning from 9.30 - 11.00am, £2 per family. You can follow our information page about this on our Facebook page 'OLV Baby & Toddler Group'.

Toothbrushing
Oral hygiene and health care is very important for young children. It is vital that they brush their teeth twice a day and have access to a dentist.
At our school, we work closely with the NHS Dentists to provide your child opportunities to have the Fluoride Varnishing completed at school from Nursery - Year 1. Your child can access this by parents completing a medical form when requested.
