Important information about Year Three
* Book bags and reading books need to be in school everyday.
* Please read with your child as regularly as possible. The more they practice, the more confident and fluent your child will become. We love to read your comments so please write in your child's reading record how they have done with their reading at home. Reading records need to be signed three times before books are changed.
* Our PE day is Friday. Please ensure your child has their PE in school. This consists of a plain white t shirt, plain blue shorts and black pumps. Please make sure that each item of clothing in named clearly.
* Please send in a named, water bottle for your child to keep in class. The children in Year Three have access to water throughout the day.
* The school raffle takes place on a Friday. Tickets are 20 pence each or £1 a strip.
* Tuck shop also takes place on a Friday. Items are 50 pence each.
Our Class Saint
Our Class Saint is Saint George.
Saint George's Day is celebrated on 23rd April.
Snow Day work - 10/01/25
Dear Parents and Carers,
For today, I’ve set some more tasks for the children to complete. I hope everyone has a good and safe weekend ahead! Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing their work soon!
Best regards,
Miss Hardaker
English – Diary Entry continued
To extend their work, I’d like the children to add a creative twist to their diary entry. They can imagine what might have happened next or include extra details to make the story even more exciting. This could be something realistic or completely made up—it’s a great way to spark their imagination!
Maths – EdShed Lesson
Thank you to those who completed the lesson yesterday! I have set an EdShed lesson focused on to be able to use multiples of 2. This lesson includes plenty of examples and interactive quizzes to help reinforce the children’s understanding. Your child may need support as they work through it.
History/Art - Roman Coins
For a creative task, I’d like the children to design their own Roman coins. They can research what coins looked like and draw their designs on paper or card, adding symbols, images, or emperors. If possible, they could make 3D coins using foil. This is a fun way to explore Roman history!
