Our Mission
We are committed to developing a diverse community of excellence driven by the values of love, forgiveness, trust and acceptance.
With Christ at the centre of all learning we will inspire every individual to have the confidence to develop their unique potential and be a responsible, effective member of society.
We offer a school that is: safe, creative and exciting. Together we will achieve in God’s love.
Our beliefs
We want all children at Our Lady Victories to be happy. We want them to feel safe and secure. We want them to be able to pray, to learn about God’s wonderful world, work and play together in a loving and respectful way. We believe that good behaviour is very important and that children and adults can work alongside each other showing mutual respect and care for the environment in which they live. We are keen to work with parents, encouraging our children to grow spiritually, academically, personally and socially. We strive for excellence in all we do. We believe that education should be an adventure and we want all our children to experience wonder and awe through our outstanding curriculum.
About our School
Our Lady of Victories Catholic Primary School is situated on a hillside position overlooking the town of Keighley, West Yorkshire, close to the Yorkshire Dales. It is a Voluntary Aided Catholic school administered by the Governing Body in association with the Diocese of Leeds and the Bradford Education authority.
There are 251 full-time pupils on roll in Key Stages 1 and 2, with a 30 ( full-time equivalent) place nursery. The building was opened in 1960 and has undergone extensive refurbishment over recent years, including the addition of a purpose built Early Years Unit. The school has its own extensive playing fields and, until recently, our church was Our Lady of Victories and was situated next to the school. However, in 2016, our parish was merged with St. Anne's, and the church of St. Anne is our new parish church. Great emphasis is placed on partnership with the parish. We also work in close union with the Keighley and Skipton Catholic Partnership of schools.
Our aim at Our Lady of Victories School is to provide all children with a framework for living. The essential nature of this framework is to lead the children towards growth in knowledge, self control, the ability to judge clearly and choose freely in order to form and conduct relationships, based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and his Law of Love, through the delivery of a broad, balanced , appropriate and differential curriculum.
The school is staffed with well-qualified and experienced teachers who work closely with each other and who are supported by a dedicated non-teaching staff. The school is also involved with training student teachers.
Parish Priests, Headteachers, Staff, Governors and Pupils have all moved on but Our Lady of Victories continues to serve the parish community to whom it owes its existence. The School needs the continued support of parents and parishioners, which has been so valuable throughout its history.
